FRISCO, Texas — On Friday, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit was awarded the North Texas Forensic Association’s Best Laboratory Award in Frisco. Several agencies nominated the Crime Scene Unit for its assistance to agencies in North Texas.According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the unit continues to share resources and expertise throughout the state to solve crimes.

Williamson County charges first man with murder due to fentanyl death
A Lockhart man has been charged for the first time in Williamson County with murder in connection with selling illegal fentanyl-laced drugs that caused an overdose death. Marek Dillard, 40, was charged with first-degree murder for the death of Remington Allison, 40, from Leander in September 2023.
